Enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 130.5 trillion soums in January-August 2018, which grew by 10.6% year-on-year

The main growth factor in total volume of industrial production was the growth in manufacturing in the manufacturing industry by 7.7%, mining and quarrying - by 30.1%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 1.3%, water supply , sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 34.8%.

 The volume of products, produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-August 2018 amounted to 21.6 trillion soums, or 16.6% of the total industry. Compared with the same period of last year, there was an increase in mining of crushed stone by 1.5 times, kaolin by 1.6 times, gas condensate by 14.3%, natural gas by 6.8%. At the same time, there is a decrease in oil production by 9.9% and coal - by 10.2%

Enterprises of manufacturing industries in January-August 2018 produced products worth 98.4 trillion soums, which rose by 7.7% year-on-year. In the structure of manufacturing industry, relative to the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries was 1.4% (2.0% in January-August 2017), medium-high-tech - 28.2% (20.4%), low technology - 31.4% (25.7%) and low technology - 39.0% (51.9%).

A significant contribution to the growth of manufacturing products was made by medium-high-tech production of Uzbekistan - 5.6%, whose growth rate by the same period of 2017 was 22.2%.

Conducting capital repair works of technological equipment allowed to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and to exceed the previous year’s potassium chloride production (+33.8%), ammonium nitrate (+17.0%), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (+31.6%), superphosphates (+68.2%), formaldehyde (1.9 times), mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (2.8 times).

The implementation of a set of measures to localize production of agricultural machinery supplied to agriculture also contributed to the growth of medium-high-tech productions of Uzbekistan. In comparison with January-August of 2017, large enterprises increased the production of plows in 58 times, tractors in 6 times, combine harvesters by 18.5% and mowers by 3.3%.

The contribution to increase in the output of manufacturing industry by medium-low-tech enterprises during the reporting period amounted to 1.1%.

During the reporting period, the enterprises increased production of rods and rods of iron or non-alloy steel (+41.5%), shaped and special profiles (+50.7%), copper foil (+28.2%).

The volume of goods, produced by the enterprises of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning reached 9.2 trillion soums (7.0% of the total volume of industry). In this industry, in January-August 2018, compared to the same period of 2017, production, transmission and distribution of electricity increased by 1.3% and the production and distribution of gaseous fuels by 0.9%.

The volume of products produced by water, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises amounted to 1.3 trillion soums (1.0% of the total volume of industry). Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, there is an increase in recyclables containing ferrous metals by 30.5%, recyclables containing aluminum - in 2.0 times, services for processing and distribution of water by water pipes - by 30.5%, services for removal, transportation of sewage and their processing - by 30.8%.

As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the output of finished products, production of consumer goods made up 47.7 trillion soums and, in comparison with January-August of 2017, increased by 6.6%, the share in the total volume of industry was 36.5%.

Compared to the same period of 2017, in the structure of consumer goods in January-August of this year, the share of non-food products increased from 61.2% to 65.2%. In the structure of output of food products, production of wine and vodka products and beer amounted to 7.6% (6.9% in January-August 2017).

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced products worth 49.6 trillion soums, the growth rate to the corresponding period of the previous year - 20.7%. If in the previous year, the share of products of joint ventures in total production reached 31.1%, in the reporting period it increased by 38.0%.

Joint ventures produced 7.1% of total production of Uzbekistan in January-August 2018. In the total volume of production of joint ventures, the share of mining and quarrying enterprises amounted to 22.8%, manufacturing industry - 77.1%.

The largest share in the structure of output of industrial output of Uzbekistan fell to Tashkent city (18.4% of the republican volume of industry), Tashkent region (16.1%), Navoi (10.9%), Andijan (10.4%), Kashkadarya (6.6%), Ferghana (5.8%) regions.

At the same time, Surkhandarya (1.3% of the republican industry), Jizzakh (1.4%), Syrdarya (2.0%), Namangan (2.4%) and Khorezm (2.6%) are the smallest regions. The consistent implementation of measures to increase industrial potential of the regions contributed to a significant increase in production in Andijan (+27.1%), Surkhandarya (+23.1%), Khorezm (+14.4%), Namangan (+10.4%), Tashkent (+10.2%), Tashkent (+9.0%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+7.8%).

Industrial output per capita was higher compared to average republican level (3.98 million soums) in Navoi region(14.82 million soums), Tashkent city (9.72 million soums), Tashkent region (7.33 million soums) and Andijan region (4.5 million soums).

At the same time, significantly lower than the average republican per capita output was Surkhandarya (678,700 soums), Namangan (1.13 million soums), Jizzakh (1.37 million soums) regions.

Industrial production of small businesses increased by 6.7% year-on-year in January-August 2018 and its share in industry made up 33.1%.

In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Tashkent (70.5% of total industry in the region), Namangan (67.7%), Jizzakh (64.9%) and Samarkand (52.6%).

At the same time, the smallest share of small business was registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (16.3%), Navoi (13.6%), Tashkent (19.0%), Andijan (21.2%) and Kashkadarya (21.5%).
