Uzbekistan has increased gold exports to $3.42 billion since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of the year, Uzbekistan has exported gold worth $ 3.42 billion, which is 11.8% more than in January-April last year. The share of this precious metal in the country's total exports exceeds 40%.

In January-April 2024, Uzbekistan exported gold worth $ 3.42 billion, according to the report Agencies of statistics under the President, which I studied "Газета.uz ".

This is 11.8% more than in the same period of 2023 ($3.06 billion). In April, shipments of precious metals abroad amounted to $ 758.3 million, in March — $ 1.35 billion, in February — $ 1.32 billion.

The share of gold in the country's total exports increased from 39.3% (in January-April 2023) to 40.3%.

In March, gold prices rose from $2,250 to $2,328 per ounce (+3.4%) and continue to update historical highs. For example, on May 21, the price of a troy ounce of gold updated its historical maximum on the New York Stock Exchange and rose to $ 2,452.6, since the beginning of the year the price has risen by 17.8%

Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves rose to $35.1 billion amid rising global gold prices. At the same time, the physical volume of precious metals in reserves decreased by 1.24 tons and remains at the minimum level since May 2022.

In March, Uzbekistan again became the largest seller of gold in the world, selling 11 tons of precious metals. In February, the country sold 12 tons of precious metals.
