Uzbekistan exported gold more in eight months than in the record 2023
Since the beginning of the year, Uzbekistan exported gold by $ 8.42 billion, which is almost 1.7 times more compared to the same period last year. Deliveries exceeded the indicator for the entire 2024 year, as well as the record 2023.
In January-August 2025, Uzbekistan sold gold for $ 8.42 billion, which is 68.9% more in monetary terms of last year ($ 4.99 billion). This was reported by the National Committee on Statistics.
Deliveries exceeded the historical maximum of 2023 ($ 8.15 billion). The amount also exceeds the indicator for 2024 ($ 7.48 billion).
In August, the country exported gold to $ 836 million. Earlier, the volume of exports was recorded at $ 1.73 billion in February, $ 1.84 billion in March, $ 1.91 billion in April, $ 1.01 billion in May and $ 1.09 billion in July.
Gold accounts for 36.7% of the total export (in January-August 2024, the share was 28.7%).
The National Posterity does not disclose the physical volume of sales. A new record can also be explained by rising prices in the world market. Last month, Dragmetal rose from 3306.8 to 3407.5 dollars for a tire ounce. In September, its price approached 3700 dollars.
In August, the international reserves of Uzbekistan updated the record, exceeding $ 50 billion. Of these, more than 40 billion dollars were in gold, which became a new maximum due to the rise in price of metal and an increase in stocks from 11.7 million to 11.8 million triple ounces.
The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Plant, the fourth in volume manufacturer of gold in the world, in the first half of the year has obtained almost 48 tons of gold (+1.4% a year by the year). Net profit increased by 72% - to a record 1.5 billion dollars. Revenue reached $ 4.7 billion (+40.9%).
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously announced a significant increase in the volume of gold and uranium extraction due to the introduction of new approaches in exploration. According to him, if in 2016 gold production volumes were 86 tons, then this year it is expected to reach an indicator of 118 tons.
